An unbelieving world watched in shock as two commercial passenger jets smashed into the World Trade Center, one after the other, cutting off all routes of escape for those who worked above the points of impact. More than 3600 people lost their lives in this deliberate act of terrorism, and the enraged nations of the West leapt into action. No expense was spared to find those responsible for this cowardly act of aggression and bring them to justice. And yet as heinous as it is, Osama bin Laden and the Al Quaida terrorist network were not the biggest killers in New York City that year. Somebody else deliberately killed more than ten times as many people in the same city, and hardly a word has been said about it.
